THE CHASE LOCAL RULES
Local Rule E-8.1
“The temporary green area defined by a white circle is a no play zone. Relief must be taken from the no play zone under Rule 16.1f”
The relief procedure is nearest point of relief plus one club length.
*Failure to comply will occur a 2 stroke penalty
**This new local rule is to help protect the temporary green surfaces for the winter months
Local Rule B-3
Under Rule 18.3 a player is not allowed to play a ball provisionally if it is known or virtually certain that their ball is in a penalty area. However:
The Men’s Committe have chosen to modify Rule 18.3 to allow the player to play a ball provisionally under Rule 17.1d(1), 17.1d(2), 17.1d(3) and Rules 18.3b and 18.3c.
- OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)
Generally in areas defined by white posts. Beyond the white posts defining the clubhouse surroundings, driving range and car park.
- Penalty Areas (rule 17)
Yellow penalty areas marked with (yellow lines or yellow stakes) (Rules 17.1d(1) and (2)).
Red penalty areas marked with (red lines or red stakes) (Rules 17.1d(3)).
- Moveable Obstructions (Rule 15.2)
a) Stones in bunkers
b) Tee markers, plates, marker posts, course signs, posts and guide rope.
- Immovable Obstructions (Rule 16.1)
Relief without penalty may be taken within one club length not nearer the hole on the following items: flower beds, tagged saplings, spiral guards and staked tree, sprinkler heads, control boxes, drainage grills, manhole covers, wells, permanent building s, brick structures, bridges, footpaths and service roads.
- ON THE 5TH FAIRWAY,
A ball striking a vehicle travelling along the driveway is subject to Rule 19.1 and is rub of the green, the ball must be played as it lies.
- WRONG PUTTING GREEN (Rule 13.1f)
A ball must be dropped off of a wrong putting green, no nearer the hole.
- Ground Under Repair (Rule 16)
Such areas will be defined by white lines or otherwise appropriately marked.
- Distance Measuring Devices (Rule 4.3)
The use of distance measuring devices for the purpose of assessing distance only is permitted.
- PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES:
Match Play – Loss of Hole;
Stroke Play – Two Strokes
